On February 18, 2025, SpillWords Press published one of my poems, Dreams of the Shore, Guided by Grace, on their site. I didn’t realize it until recently when they published my latest poem, Pow-Wow Night.
They mentioned it was my second piece featured on their platform, and I’m truly grateful, overwhelmed, and blessed. The reason I didn’t notice the first time was because they used a different picture, one of their own. I had been looking for my photos, so when I didn’t see mine alongside my poem, I assumed it hadn’t been published and decided to move on.
What an incredible honor and feeling it is to know that something I wrote was published and shared beyond WordPress for others to read, enjoy, and, Lord willing, be blessed by.
Although my post may have sparked mixed feelings, please know that anything I write is never meant to disrespect anyone or any culture. I simply share what I believe the Lord places in my heart, because I know I’m not clever or creative enough to craft such words on my own. That’s why I always give God all the Glory and Praise.
