This post is a collaboration with me, Phoebe, and Ernie Dawg. It’s been a true thrill and joy working with two amazing people, and I’m honored to call them my Dear Friends. We hope you enjoy this, and we wish and pray for everyone to have a wonderful, joyous, and blessed Christmas from all three of us. Remember, You Are Loved.
Willie’s: Christmas Past
“The lights blinked red, green, and gold,
But their warmth left me cold.
Laughter echoed through the halls,
Yet I felt small among it all.
The gifts were wrapped, the tree stood tall,
But something inside me felt so small.
I’d watch, I’d smile, I’d play my part,
But Christmas never touched my heart.”
Phoebes: Christmas Present
“A giant clad in robes of green,
With eyes that sparkled, kind and keen.
His torch aglow with festive cheer,
He spread goodwill to all who’d hear.
A feast he bore, both grand and bright,
A beacon on a winter’s night.
Yet ‘neath his robe, a warning grim,
For hearts unkind would answer him.
“Come, see the joy, the warmth, the light,
But mind the shadows of this night.
For Christmas lives where love is spread,
Not hoarded wealth or hearts of dread.“
Ernie Dawgs: Christmas Future
“The sins of hate were washed away
By the belief of forgiveness today
I found joy and meaning-seeking the truth
Blinking lights show me the proof
The giant dressed in green offers hope
Christmas cheer helping me to cope
Happy Christmas to all from this trio
Sharing the love from our savior and hero.”
