Time With God – Part 4

Revised Edition Part Four

Welcome back to Time With God, Part Four of Eight. If you haven’t read Part One through Three yet, I encourage you to catch up here, here, and here … This journey is transformative, and starting from the beginning will help you engage fully with the message.

We live in a world governed by time, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and so on. But how much of that time are we dedicating to God? While time is a gift, it’s easy to let distractions steal it away.

Do you eagerly anticipate your Time With God? Or does life get in the way? Spending Time With God, through prayer, worship, and Bible reading, should be our highest priority.

Are you still?

Are you taking time to truly connect with God? Or have you been distracted, missing out on the transformative power of being in His presence?

As we continue this series, I encourage you to reflect on your Time With God. Let’s prioritize it together. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss the next part of this life-changing journey.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing..

I remember the moment after my spinal surgery in 2009-2010, when my doctor came into my hospital room and informed me and my family that I had nearly died during my surgery. I hadn’t come out of my anesthesia and the surgeons were about to give up trying to revive me. My family and I were horrified, yet thankful that I had somehow made it through.

Now when I look back, I am filled with immense gratitude for the second chance I was given. I thank God for blessing me with a chance to live and enjoy everything that life has to offer. I thank Him for giving me the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones, to fulfill my dreams and aspirations and to share His mercy and grace with the world.

Thank God, that I am still here. His Mercy has allowed me to continue living and to share all that He has blessed me with. Brothers and Sisters, this is the incredible Grace of God. He loves us so deeply and endlessly. His goodness knows no bounds and I am thankful every day for His presence in my life. He has been my rock, my strength, and my refuge during tough times. His love and protection have been my saving grace. May we never forget His love and mercy and thank Him always for the blessings He showers us with.

When I left the hospital after my spinal surgery, I had 6 months of what was supposed to be a relatively short recovery ahead of me. Little did I know that those 6 months would be some of the longest and most difficult of my life. I had to go through physical therapy and see my chiropractor 3-5 times a week. On top of that, I wore a neck brace every day. I could barely eat, talk, or even take a few steps. It was a time of immense difficulty, one that felt like it would never end. But I am so thankful to have made it through. Even to this day, I still have not fully recovered, feeling pain and discomfort, but I am alive. I am grateful for the strength I found within myself to make it through.

Despite having had surgery, I am still far from 100%. I face a variety of issues due to the surgery, and there are times when it can be difficult. Yet, by the grace of God I am still able to talk, laugh, walk, run, and dance. I am able to witness my children’s smiles, kiss my wife good morning or good night, and I can still raise my arms to God in praise during worship. I thank God for the strength He has given me and I am forever grateful for His grace.

As I began to heal and recover from the surgery, the first thing I wanted to do was to take my wife and our boys to the beach, our towns local Lake. It was a strange place to go, but there was a reason. The beach was calling us, a call that could not be ignored. It was a chance to take in the sights and sounds of nature, to feel the waves crashing against the shore, see the boats passing by and feel the sand between our toes. We were ready for an adventure, to experience the lake in all its glory. Standing on the beach, I was overcome with both sorrow and joy, as I watched my two boys running around in the sand. They were picking up seashells, laughing, and enjoying the moment. The warmth of the sun on my skin was so soothing, and I felt completely at peace.

As I held my wife close, I thanked my Almighty Father for His grace and mercy. I was so blessed to be able to stand here in this moment and to be given a second chance to make things right. I was overwhelmed with emotion as I realized how blessed I truly was. I was so lucky to have another chance to learn and grow, to make mistakes and to learn from them. I have been given a second wind of life, a chance to make right my wrong choices and correct my past mistakes. This is a gift that I must treasure and appreciate, a chance to truly see what God has given me every single day, something I have taken for granted or overlooked. I must no longer put myself first and think I am above all. Instead, I must realize that I am blessed with so much, and I must be grateful for all the things I have. I need to take time to appreciate the little things, the moments that I have taken for granted in the past. I must not let such blessings go to waste and must be thankful for the opportunity to start anew. This is my second wind, and I must make the most of it. I want to make it a point to no longer put myself first, to not think that I am above all, but to worship and recognize He who is.

“The blind man is able to see the world in a different light, more deeply, and more profoundly than any of us who can see.”

“A deaf man can still converse with God and hear his voice, even though he cannot hear with his physical ears.”

“We often overlook the small things in life, mistaking them for being insignificant.“

It’s moments like these that we take for granted, moments when the beauty of life can be fully appreciated yet we forget to be thankful. We forget to take a moment to give glory and praise to God Almighty, to spend Time With God. We forget to recognize the intricacies of life and the importance of our relationship with God. But it’s moments like this, when we are lying in a hospital bed, or when a surgeon tells us that he almost gave up on bringing us back, that we remember. It’s moments like these that help us see just how precious life is and how truly lucky we are to have the opportunity to give glory and praise to God Almighty and spend Time With Him. So let us not forget to appreciate and thank Him in every moment, especially those we take for granted.

Romans 12:2 – New International Version
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

First of all Willie. Thankyou for sharing your very traumatic experiences so openly. You are truly blessed in more ways than you’ll ever comprehend, not just coming through major surgery, being bought out of anaesthesia, having the strength to fight the long road to recover through tremendous pain, having the determination to continue fighting when I know, at times you wanted to give up, but God refused to let you.

He needed you, He chose you and saved you for a reason. To use your gifts and your suffering to help others of which you do with humility, grace and kindness. Your words, His words, mean more than you know, touching more lives than can possibly be known.

Your words are as powerful as being spoken by God himself. His words, his messages come through you with such conviction.

I too have been saved from near death many times, literally and nearly losing my life on so many occasions and almost died after major surgery where I almost bled to death. By the Grace of God, I survived but what have should have taken 3-6 months to recover, took 18 months. of determination and strength, of calling on God to give me courage, strength, when I was too weak to speak.

So many times I too have been saved when by rights I should not have survived. I have SDDD (Severe Degenerative Disc Disease) several collapsed / prolapsed discs, spine on spine, cervical spondylosis, all too severe too operate and I suffer tremendous pain daily, but I thank God for another day first thing every morning. I thank Him for another safe blessed day every night. I thank him for everything, even to saving a parking space in the shopping centre.

I found God when I was a tot of 2 when I prayed to God to let me die, as depicted in my writings, poetry, but instead, He saved me for a reason, which years later I understand why now. I have always felt His presence in my life, all my life, giving thanks in everything I’ve suffered and for all I have and even for the things, peoples and animals that I’ve loved and lost. For giving me the strength to get through some very tumultuous, frightening times when I’ve felt too weak to continue and just wanted to give up.

I can relate and understand you so much more. We were saved for a reason even though at times, we fail to commit to healing ourselves and others due to societal pressures and criticisms on top of our own sufferings and traversing very hard, rocky roads. Thank you for reminding me at a time when I, having lost everything and everyone, have questioned my Faith, reason, purpose and feel so alone, rejected by siblings and suffered ridicule, abuse, abandonment and loneliness for being Me, and telling my story, of which I have questioned if I should continue so many times. So I understand we DO walk this path together and thank you for being a part of my journey too.

May Gods Blessings be in and upon you and your family for ever more. You are needed my friend. Don’t ever doubt that. 🙏❤️ continue to be a blessing and inspiration that you were and are called to be. 🙏

We really are two peas in a pod… We’ve been through so much pain, suffering, sorrow, and even moments close to death. Yet, God keeps bringing us through it all. His work in us and through us isn’t finished. Honestly, I believe this is just the beginning of what He’s about to do.

Yes, the pain is real, and we feel it every single day. But God still gives us strength to keep going. That might not seem like much to others, but for you, for me, and for all who believe, we know a day is coming. A day when we’ll see His healing hands at work and rejoice with the family of believers He brings into our lives… People who will lift us up, help us stay strong, and remind us that we are never alone.

We Are Loved, even in the hardest moments.
And I can’t wait to hear your testimony when it all unfolds.

Thank you, Destiny. Yes, it was one of the scariest moments of our lives. The fear was real, for me, for Frances, and for the boys. But even in that fear, God was near. Our faith was tested, but it never broke. In the middle of the trauma, He reminded me and us that His presence is stronger than our fear.

What was meant to be a simple spinal surgery turned into a life-threatening experience because of my allergy to anesthesia. A condition I now have to live with for the rest of my life, and cannot go under for anything again… It changed everything. But by God’s Mercy and Grace, I’m still here. Why? Only He knows.

I’m beyond grateful that I can walk, move, and even run again. Time is precious. His Grace truly abounds. All Glory to God.

God never waste anything that happens in our life. Before I knew Him, He was drawing me to Him. When I had our daughter after 12 years of marriage and 6 miscarriages I had one question in my mind. Where did those babies I lost go so I bought a bible to see if it had answers. I read it for four years before I finally died to Betty and was born again to through Jesus. I was 35 and am not 78 and the lesson about Him wasting nothing has stayed with me through many trials that made my purpose here clearer with each trial. I am amazed I am still alive so I know its because He wants me here. One thing in having to deal with illness and being in the hospital so much I get to witness to many, its my new mission field. Your story speaks of an openness to God working through the hard times to this truth, He waste nothing. Wise Hearted

I was struck by the part where you say we should be grateful for the moments we take for granted. I had never thought about it from this perspective, and you’re absolutely right. Your experience broadened my understanding, and I thank you for it. What a blessing it was to be given this second chance! I was born surgically. My umbilical cord wrapped around my neck because I did so many somersaults in my mother’s womb. The doctors asked my mother if she wanted them to save her or the baby. She begged them to save my life, but God was so good that we both survived and are here. I have to be grateful too! 🙏🏼✨😉🍀 Have a good weekend, Catarina.

Thank you for sharing such a powerful testimony and heartfelt reflection. Willie. Your journey – from the brink of death to a renewed appreciation for life and God’s grace – is deeply moving. It’s a vivid reminder of how fragile life is and how deeply transformative it can be when we recognize God’s presence in our pain and recovery.

May your testimony continue to touch lives and encourage others to find peace, healing, and deeper relationship with God, even in their hardest seasons.

God does not promise to bring us to Himself physically whole. I am thankful that He makes us whole in Christ. It’s in these times where we can run to God or from God. I am so very glad you made the choice to have TWIG (time with God). May the Lord continue to bless you to be a blessing, Willie!

Willie, what a wonderful story of overcoming! I can only imagine how difficult this entire period of health problems was. The most intriguing and moving thing, besides your strength found in God, is the constant support you received from your wife, Frances, and your children. These days, my friend, it’s rare for a couple to survive this; all it takes is for one to get sick and need care, and they’re quickly abandoned. Jesus warned that, in the end times, the love of many would grow cold. The importance of taking time to be grateful to God is so important. This text is a reminder for all of us. Thank you for sharing this painful experience with us, but one that was overcome with faith in God and the help of family. I wish you a blessed week.🙂🙏🏻✨✍🏻📚🦁🦊👏🏻

I’m grateful for your encouragement and your heart. May your week be filled with peace, joy, and God’s presence. 🙏🏻 You are truly a Blessing.

Thank you for sharing your testimony here Willie. I had no idea you went through this! But isn’t it incredible how GOD humbles us and gets our attention when we go through a sickness, surgery or whatever it is that is physical! Honestly now, I wouldn’t change the fact that I had breast cancer. I never felt nearer to my LORD and it got my attention even more. My heart’s desire now more than ever before is to spend time with HIM. GOD my priority! I fight for this precious time because the world wants to pull me away. I love all you said here……..be still Willie and know YOU ARE LOVED!

I’m Willie

Hello and Welcome to my Website.
My name is William Torres, but my family and friends call me Willie. It is a pleasure to be here with you today, and I am excited to share my faith journey with you.

My journey has been amazing and fulfilling as a new Christian. I have seen God work in my life in ways I never could have imagined. I have grown closer to my faith and have seen Him work in my life and the lives of those around me. I am truly blessed to call myself a Christian, and I am excited to continue to grow in my faith.

I believe that I have come a long way in life. Over the years, I have worked hard to become a better man, husband to Frances Torres, and father to our children. I have strived to be a good friend and companion to those I have been fortunate to build relationships with. I have learned to appreciate the small moments of joy and fulfillment that come with every human connection.

I began writing stories that I believe were inspired by the Holy Spirit. These stories are my testimonies about the different trials I have gone through, and how the Lord has helped me to overcome them. Through this process, I’ve discovered that I can forgive those I once vowed to never forgive, and in turn, my relationships with them have been restored. They are now a huge blessing and a special part of my life.

I hope that through my writing I can be a source of encouragement to other people in their faith and relationship with the Lord. I pray that those who read my words will be blessed by the Lord and find strength and comfort in His Word.

To be honest, I have had to come to terms with the fact that I am not perfect, but it is in this place of acceptance that I am able to truly worship a God who is. His infinite love brings me joy, strength, and peace, and I am thankful for the privilege of being able to serve Him.

I have also started a Social Media Ministry on Facebook, which I invite you to visit here. Being Crazy For Christ is a platform where I share my journey of faith, and I am also on YouTube – Willie Torres Jr. and I am excited to see all that God will do through it.

This is my hope, and I’m so thankful for it. I’m thankful for the love of Jesus, and I’m thankful for the chance to grow in Him together with you.

You Are Loved
