Welcome back to Time With God, Part Three of Eight. If you haven’t read Part One or two yet, I encourage you to catch up here and here… This journey is transformative, and starting from the beginning will help you engage fully with the message.
We live in a world governed by time, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and so on. But how much of that time are we dedicating to God? While time is a gift, it’s easy to let distractions steal it away.
Do you eagerly anticipate your Time With God? Or does life get in the way? Spending Time With God, through prayer, worship, and Bible reading, should be our highest priority.
Are you still?
Are you taking time to truly connect with God? Or have you been distracted, missing out on the transformative power of being in His presence?
As we continue this series, I encourage you to reflect on your Time With God. Let’s prioritize it together. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss the next part of this life-changing journey.

Time With God: Part 3 of 5
The Father does not expect long hour prayers, nor does He require meaningful prayers with a purpose. He just wants your time; that’s all. Even if it is just a few moments each day, He will take it and appreciate it.
You can start your day with a simple “Good Morning God, Thank you for this day.” No matter how long or short your Time With God may be, He will acknowledge it and love you for your effort. When you make time for Him, even if it is just acknowledging His presence and giving Him thanks, He will be thankful.
What better friend than God to start your day? To just talk, vent, or just talk about the things planned ahead? God is always ready to listen and provide words of comfort and encouragement. So why not start your day with the best friend of all – God?
Every morning begins the same way: We wake up, have our caffeine, and out we go. We make our way to our cars, and drive off to school, work, or the gym. We make our journey with the blessing of God, trusting in His protection to get us to our destination on time and unharmed. With every turn of the wheel and every passing mile, we are grateful for the chance to make it to our destination each day. We are thankful that God watches over us, granting us the privilege of a safe journey.
Getting to our destination each morning is something we often take for granted. We hop in the car, turn on the radio, and hit the road without giving a second thought to how we got there.
But how often do we stop to give thanks to God for getting us to our destination safely and on time? In good weather and bad, we should pause and give thanks for His provision and protection. We are so blessed to have such a loving, caring God who watches over us each day and keeps us safe. Let’s take a few moments each morning and pause to thank the Lord for our safe arrival.
Talking to God can be a wonderful way to express gratitude and appreciation. One way to do so is simply to say, “Thank you, Father, for getting me here safely.” In saying these words, you are reminding yourself and God of the many blessings you have in your life. When you thank God, you show Him that you recognize the hand of His protection and provision in your life.
God’s love is unconditional, and His mercy and grace are new every morning. We may not always recognize the little things He blesses us with, but they are there, manifesting in the smallest and most unsuspecting of ways. From the sun rising in the morning to the birds singing in the trees, God is present in our lives, constantly showering us with His love.
1 Chronicles 16:34 — Christian Standard Bible
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.
We also use our sense of smell to guide us in our daily lives. For example, the smell of a freshly brewed cup of coffee can help to start the day off right, while the scent of a lemon can bring a feeling of freshness and clarity. Our sense of smell can even be used to bring back memories from the past.
We have the incredible gift of sight. It allows us to take in the beauty of life, from the vast sky above, the rolling waves of the ocean, the tall trees reaching towards the heavens, and the growth of our children from birth to adulthood. If we are lucky enough to have a spouse, we are able to witness their beauty, be it a wife or a husband. Our sight allows us to appreciate all of the beauty of life and love, and for that we are truly blessed.
Waking up next to my wife every morning is a treasured blessing that I am thankful for every day. After 35 years of marriage, we are still together, and it warms my heart to see the beautiful smile on her face in the morning when I’m getting ready for work or when I come home in the evening. I am so grateful to have her in my life and I thank God for this blessing.
Saying “Thank You, God, for This Day” is a simple yet powerful way to express our gratitude. When we give thanks to God, we are acknowledging Him and His provision, and we are connecting with Him in a special way. This is Time With God.

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Love this, Willie! And I have marked your book as a favorite in Amazon to buy it soon. I read the sample. The book of Matthew is one of my favorites in the Holy Bible and why I named my son, Matthew!
I also just wrote a blog for a fellow blogger, which he will publish on his blog in a few days/weeks. And it was about Time too! The song from The Chambers Brothers. And Time (when I did a hard drive search a few years ago), was the most used word on my laptop! Time waits for no person. And we have Omniscience God to thank for any of us having time on this earth. Bravo!

Beautifully said Willie. My sentiments exactly. The first words I think or say out loud are “Thank you Father for another day”. I pray and give thanks throughout my day for everything that I am blessed with, even down to finding a free parking spot waiting for me in the car park in town, that I have prayed for before I get there. God is always listening, is forever at our sides, guiding and protecting us. Give thanks for everything. We don’t always give 100% when distracted by societal demands but I know God is pleased with the tiniest silent whisper of thanks and of gratitude.
“Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”….. (Philippians 4: 6-7) and I do. Every day.
Our breath, our life, our gifts, our talents, our words, all belongs to and comes from God.

.the little things
Hey brother, I am so happy to see you writing and posting!!! I hope all is going well with the new job bro. I agree wholeheartedly that acknowledging GOD first thing is the only way to start each day. Asking for guidance and thanking him for another chance to do something to highlight his presence is the only way to Hurdy Gurdy!!!
I talk with our Lord throughout the day, thanking him for the little pleasures I receive daily, along with the ability to write posts that people sometimes enjoy. I have been blessed to have gone into hell and then be brought back through the light of his love.
I have been struggling lately with how people claim to be walking in the light but can not accept that I had to walk in darkness to appreciate the light that guides me. I acknowledge the darkness sometimes in my writing and as said, it helps me be thankful for not running down those overcrowded streets of darkness.

Hey Brother Ernie, Thank you so much for Reading and for your Kind words, they always lift me up and remind me that I’m not walking this road alone. The job so far is going good, there’s a lot to learn, and a few things I’ll need to adjust to, but I’m trusting God through it all. He’s been guiding me even when I felt lost, silent, or overwhelmed. That just shows how present He is, especially in our moments of fear, struggle, and sadness. It’s in the little things where His love shines the brightest.
I’m grateful for your honesty, your testimony, and how you let His light speak even through the shadows. Keep writing, Brother, it matters more than you know.

Great post, brother! It inspired me to dedicate more time during the day to spend with Jesus. I find that skimping on my prayer time is such a detriment… it only cheats ME…as I’m deprived of an activity that needs to be #1… but often falls between the cracks and I’m lucky if I can murmur a few things in bed until I fall asleep. 🙏😎❤️

Freshly brewed coffee is one of my favorite aromas.
Living with chronic illness it makes so much difference to start my day with God and ask for strength and help to be a blessing.

Thank you, my friend Willie, for bringing us part 3 of this very relevant topic, but often forgotten by the vast majority of us. “Giving our time to God “, you touched on a crucial point about thanking God for leading us safely to our destination. Unfortunately, what we see in everyday life is the portrait of the “last days”: difficult times and people grumbling about everything and the love of Christ growing cold in their hearts. This text is a reminder to “step on the brakes” and reconnect with the divine source, even if it is for a moment within our time, because we do not know what tomorrow will bring, do we? Thanking our GOD right along with you Willie. I saw GOD all around me in an early morning walk with the pup. The desert really is so beautiful. I am always amazed at the delicate flowers that survive in our 100 degree heat. Early in the a.m. the flowers on bushes and trees look fresh and untouched. ONLY HIS HAND can do this! Thanks for this great post and picture too!
