When Pain Demands a Decision – Part 3 of 3
As we step into this season of Lent, #Lent26 let’s take a moment to remember the comfort Jesus Christ laid down for us on the Cross.
“Comfort is fleeting. The Cross is real. I must choose not what eases my pain, but what saves my soul”
I won’t be creating images for this series because my hope is that the message speaks louder than the visuals.
To all of you, I pray you have a glorious day. May you enjoy this series, share it with others, and be truly blessed by it... If this is your first time reading the series, you might want to start at the beginning to fully follow the story….. Part one and Part Two ….
YOU ARE LOVED
There is a question most believers hope they never have to answer.
It is easy to declare faith when life is comfortable. It is easy to follow Christ when pain is manageable and needs are met. But what happens when comfort is taken away? What happens when relief is offered at the cost of your faith?
Comfort or The Cross was born from that question.
This series is not about theory. It is about the heart. It asks what we would choose if following Jesus cost us everything. Safety. Healing. Stability. Even life itself.
The first chapter begins with a simple drive through a familiar neighborhood. What I saw there forced me to confront a deeper truth. Before we can talk about endurance or grace, we must answer one question honestly.
If comfort required denying Christ, what would we choose?
This series continues here…
When does this end? How do I end this pain, this suffering, this agony?
What can I do? I will do anything.
And then we come back to the question.
Comfort or the Cross?
Will I endure the pain and suffering, believing that where I am weak, Jesus is my strength? If I suffer, I suffer for Jesus Christ, trusting that He is my healer, and I lay my faith and my life in His hands, knowing that in His time, I will be healed.
What if choosing comfort cost me my promise of eternal life?
What if laying down the Cross cost me my life in Christ?
Will I lay down my Cross, or will I pick it up again and continue to follow Him?
For He said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
And I hold on to this truth: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” – Psalm 34:19
And so I stand at the crossroads, holding my Cross, choosing Him, and trusting that His strength will carry me through every trial. I know the road will not be easy. Pain will come. Sorrow will press. Trials will test every part of my faith. But I will not let go.
I hold my Cross because it is the proof that I belong to Christ. I carry it because His grace carries me. I stand in the power of His love, not my own.
And now I ask you to pause and consider. When your life feels unbearable, when your body, your mind, or your heart is exhausted, what will you choose?
Will you seek Comfort that fades, or will you lift the Cross and walk in the strength that only Jesus provides?
Comfort or the Cross?
The choice is yours.
