Connected Across Continent.

A Scream, A Vent, and Heartfelt Gratitude for My Incredible Readers.

A Heartfelt Thank You to My Subscribers Around the World. And Blessings to you all on a New Year to come .

Wishing You Blessings for the 2025 New Year.

One thing I’ve realized I’ve neglected, and I truly apologize for it, is expressing my deep gratitude to all of you who follow this blog. Many of you not only subscribe but continue to read, comment, and even touch my heart with your unwavering support, love, kindness, and encouragement.

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I’ve often tried to keep my personal feelings in check, but sometimes they break through. People have told me I’m too sensitive or take things too personally, and they may be right. Growing up in an environment of pain, isolation, and insecurity, I didn’t have the opportunity to be surrounded by people who were strong, encouraging, or supportive. I had to learn these things later in life, an uphill battle that continues to this day.

Breaking Through the Walls

That’s why receiving admiration, support, and positive words feels so foreign. Even now, it’s hard for me to accept them without a twinge of self-doubt. I struggle with self-esteem, finding pride in my work, and maintaining optimism. It’s especially difficult when the people I most hope will cheer me on, close friends and family, don’t always show their support.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

Ephesians 2:10

To be clear, my mom and my wife are incredible. They encourage me every chance they get, reminding me how much they love my writing. But I often downplay their words, thinking, of course, they’re supportive, they’re family. They love me, and they know how sensitive I am.

“When Love Speaks Louder”

Someone very close to me once told me, “I hate people, and people, especially family, truly suck.” I used to laugh at this, even though it brought me a sense of pain for them living with that mindset. But now, after 50 years, I finally get it. I finally see it, and I understand it. It’s not so much that family and friends inherently suck; it’s that relying on them for validation or support sucks. Feeling let down by their lack of encouragement sucks. And dealing with all the fake mumbo jumbo that’s passed off as care and love really sucks.

Jeremiah 17:5-7
“This is what the Lord says: ‘Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.’”

The hard truth is, we can’t change people. We can’t make them see our worth or force them to offer the support we crave. But what we can change is our expectation of them. If they didn’t show up then, they won’t show up now. Letting go of that hope, as painful as it is, brings a strange kind of freedom.

Releasing What Holds Us Back

I’ve written two books and have three others nearly finished, yet I constantly wrestle with self-doubt and discouragement. It’s like Scrooge creeping in to steal my joy and enthusiasm for what I’ve accomplished. The nagging voice in my head whispers, Why go through all the hard work when the people closest to you don’t support you? If they don’t care, why would strangers?

Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Writing a book is no small feat. It demands time, patience, research, and plenty of frustration. It’s draining, mentally, emotionally, and physically. But when you hold that first proof copy in your hands, the sense of accomplishment is indescribable. It’s proof that you’ve done something extraordinary, something most people only dream about.

This was my Second Book. “Take Me Out With The Crowd.”

But then comes the hardest part, sharing it with the world. You hope your friends and family will rally around you, not just to buy the book but to show genuine pride and encouragement. When that doesn’t happen, it’s devastating. It feels like a spotlight on the truth you’ve tried to ignore: the insincerity of some people you thought would always be in your corner.

Psalm 118:8
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.”

Fake support. Fake encouragement. Fake love.

I deliberately priced my books affordably, not because I wanted to make a profit but because I wanted them to be accessible. At $12.99, I’m not getting rich. Amazon takes the lion’s share, leaving me with about $5. I use that to maintain this blog because sharing the words God has placed on my heart is far more important to me than financial gain.

Sharing God’s Message Over Profit.

I’ve never written for wealth or fame. I write because it’s something I’ve always loved and because I want to share the messages God has placed on my heart. All glory goes to Him. There are moments when I read what I’ve written, whether silently or out loud, and I’m genuinely amazed, wondering how it came from my hands. But I know, and many of you likely do as well, that it’s entirely God’s doing.

As for the funds, the small amount of revenue I earn goes right back into supporting this work. For me, it’s never been about money; it’s about reaching hearts and touching souls.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)

And this is where you, my subscribers, come in. You’ve shown me that not everyone is fake. Your genuine support, kind words, and encouragement have been a lifeline to me. You’ve reminded me why I write, why I pour my heart into these stories, and why I keep going even when the shadows of doubt grow heavy. For this, I will always be grateful. You’ve given me a joy and a sense of fulfillment that I will never forget.

My Lifeline: The Genuine Support of My Readers.

To my family and friends who haven’t supported me, I hold no resentment. I wish you happiness and blessings. But I’ve reached a point where I can no longer chase after validation or acceptance. I love you, but I won’t exhaust myself seeking something you’re unwilling to give.

To my subscribers — whether you’re reading this from across the street or across the world, Thank You. Thank you for seeing me, for hearing me, and for lifting me up when I’ve felt like giving up. You are more than an audience; you’re a source of strength and inspiration.

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me, for supporting my work, and for reminding me that I’m not alone. May God Bless each and every one of you abundantly. You are the reason I continue to dream, write, and share the words God has placed on my heart.

From the Heart: Gratitude and Blessings.

The End …

With all my gratitude,

Willie Torres Jr.

Thank you for your wonderful writing this past year. Wow, Amazon is taking a big chunk, but I guess it offers a wider audience. They should definitely adjust their commissions to give more back to the author. I hope 2025 brings you many good things. God bless you, Willie.

Thank you so much for Reading and for your kind words and support. I truly appreciate it. Yes, Amazon does take a large percentage, but as you said, it does help reach a wider audience. I agree, it would be great if authors received a bit more, but we have to keep moving forward if we want to continue writing. While they handle the printing and shipping, it would still be nice if they gave us a little more.

Wishing you a Blessed and Wonderful 2025 as well.

We handle everything; writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting. Essentially, we take care of all the steps to get the book ready, and they handle the printing and shipping. I understand them taking a significant portion of the revenue, and I’m okay with that because I never pursued this for wealth. I do it out of love, passion, and a sense of calling, to share God’s message. My struggle is the lack of support from those who matter most to me.

Oh, my goodness, Willie ❤ … Felt these exact emotions and told my entire life, I was too sensitive and took things personally AND yes, I do, because it IS sensitive personal matters like just the Creator and creation at hand, but whatever 😉 (lol) !!!! You are golden in my eyes and a conduit for the Lord ~ Bless you infinitely and graciously !!!! It is tremendous your writing accomplishments and divine interactions (soul-to-soul) … You are doing so much, and the evil one will take notice, but what has been explained to me … Family doesn’t always understand or know how to conduct with anyone who has gifts or confidence in knowing the Lord like you do. Been told it scares them a little and for the individual gifted can feel like immeasurable feats that could really use support. There’s a phenomenal cartoon image of a man on top a cliff holding with one arm a woman who is dangling over the edge, but what can’t be seen is a snake rattling from an inlet by her face !!!! Let your awesome light shine, Brother, God will do the rest !!!!!

We have felt EXACTLY as you have described here, Willie! If every one of our family and friends would have shared about my books or Richard’s songs or art work, we would be thrilled and have a bit of savings in the bank! But we love and live by that scripture in Matthew too! We write and create for the GLORY of Omniscience God! We don’t seek others validation or praise. While I dream of being Taylor Sheridan, I wouldn’t want to make the daily decisions he has to make, or worry about someone taking what I earned, etc. I don’t really know what his worries might be, but I wouldn’t want them. I’m using him as a current example of a very good writer/storyteller who is making money.
So, let’s join arm in arm and uplift each others spirits, okay?!? I think you’re an excellent writer. Which book should I read of yours first?

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. I completely agree, we create for the Glory of God, and while Recognition and success are wonderful, they’re not our primary motivation. It just hurts sometimes, because I try to support anyone I can, even here on WordPress. It doesn’t take much to read, like, and leave a comment on someone’s post. It’s not easy to share and think of something others would appreciate, so I know for me, when I see a like or comment, I’m ecstatic, not only did someone read what I wrote, but someone related to it, someone has a thought or opinion, and maybe someone has sound advice. The fact that someone takes the time speaks volumes, it shows support and encourages us to continue and do more. And when we don’t get that from our own family or close friends, yes, that can be hurtful. But as I said, and you’ve echoed, it’s not about our glory, but about God’s Glory and Praise.

Yes, let’s join arm in arm and uplift each other’s spirits.

Which of my books should you read first? Well, my first book, The Latter Times of Being Crazy For Christ, shares my personal testimonies and journey in Christ. It highlights how, through faith (even beginner’s faith), I learned to trust God and witnessed His miracles during my struggles. My second book, Take Me Out With The Crowd, is a mix of sports and religion. While not a typical sports book, it offers valuable lessons on how we often place things like celebrities, sports, and social events above God. It reflects on how we prioritize things we love, but when it comes to God, prayer, or church, we make excuses and treat them like burdens instead of necessities. I personally love my second book more, but it really depends on the reader. Plus, it has a few more pages, so it’s a bit longer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to Read and Comment.

God’s Continued Blessings to you, today and always.

Wow, Willie! Both of your books sound amazing! And I appreciate you explaining that your second book, while it uses examples from sports, I might like though I am not a “sports person.” Bravo!
Yes, I will put both on my reading list. Just know it might take me awhile to get to them. I have at least a dozen ahead of them to read and I read books slowly.
I sooo agree that we prioritize a whole LOT of things in our lives ahead of prayer time, and yet, it’s our prayer time (time devoted to Omniscience God) that is THE most crucial thing we can do!
Thank you so much for reminding us.
        Blessings dear heart!

    Abou spoke more low,

But cheerly still; and said, “I pray thee, then,

Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night

It came again with a great wakening light,

Isn’t that the reason we write? To share a message that others can relate to, but might not be able to express themselves, or perhaps don’t want to. My intention with this post wasn’t to vent, though that’s how it turned out. I really meant to write something positive (lol) 😅. God has something to say to all of us, and like you, he also feels the need to say the things he says and receives no validation for it. He knows that most of us are distracted or have too much on our plates that we put on them.
But there are hearts out there that can hear what you’re saying, it is to them to whom you must write.
I don’t have tons of likes, and that’s okay. If it touches one heart, I did what God wanted me to do.
So keep on keeping on, hang in there, you’re a blessing to hearts that are listening.
Much love and blessings, my brother.

Brother Torres, it’s always a heartfelt blessing to read your work and posts. I believe we all know a thing or two about self doubt, wondering what others are thinking, saying about us but it only matters what God says about us for He alone knows us more intimately than anyone else could.

I’ve come to think about it in the way His word tells me: “Perfect love casts out all fear!” As long as we are striving to love in the way God loves us , the words and actions of others cannot hurt us because there is freedom in love and whom the Spirit sets free is free indeed! We do not need to carry the baggage and burdens that the enemy tries to thrust upon us via the methods and people he uses. The world will try to break us, but remember we know the One who makes us STRONG in and through Him!
Love and admiration for your steadfast commitment and dedication in sharing your special gifts and the word and love of Christ! 💛💯🙏🙏🙏

Dear Sister Bev, your words truly touched my heart. You’ve reminded me so beautifully of God’s perfect Love, which indeed casts out all fear and frees us from the burdens of this world. It’s easy to get caught up in what others think, but as you said, it’s God’s truth about us that matters most.

I’m so Grateful for your Encouragement, Support and Love.

May we continue to strive to love as He Loves us, standing strong in His Grace.

Your support means more than words can express.

Love and Blessings to you always. 💛💯🙏

I thank Willie for your presence here on WordPress. It has been very rewarding for me to interact with you, read your texts, your rich illustrations, the beloved character Leo and all the creativity you use to spread the word of Christ to all people. I understand perfectly what it is like to go against the grain of family. One thing I have learned is not to have expectations regarding people or situations that are not in my control. Just sow the good seed, do what you feel needs to be done, and you have already done that. You are wise, creative and know how to use words well for each situation, beliefs and different cultures. I wish you a Happy New Year 2025, with renewed energy and many projects bearing fruit. Have a great New Year’s celebration with your family! 🤗🙏🏻✨🎇🦁📖🥂

Willie, I love your authenticity, heart, and candidness for CHRIST. Brother, I’m sorry for the lack of support and validation from family. I’m so happy to be part of a family that supports you. For many reasons (and this is not my place to say anything but “I understand”), I can relate.

On our walks with Christ we will all be in different places, as you know well. Unfortunately, we also know that our own families will sometimes be the worst of supporters–yet, I cling to the fact that I’m to place Jesus ABOVE them (“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children…or fields…for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” Matt 19:29–in context).

I’ve “lost” money publishing, going to schools, trying to “publish”. Yet, at the end of the day, I smile thinking of …the purpose.

If there’s anyone I’d love to be able to support with a million and his dreams, you’re one of them, Willie. You choose honesty, love, and truth.

Your artwork, words, and wisdom make my jaw drop at times! You’re a blessing and delight, brother! God bless you!!!!!!

The feedback on books comes so painfully slow compared to writing posts on the blog. And we’ll always have criticism that is personal rather than constructive. We need a tough skin in this business. There always are those who will be positively affected by your books. Congratulations on your fine work, Willie.

Excellent observation: The hard truth is, we can’t change people. We can’t make them see our worth or force them to offer the support we crave. But what we can change is our expectation of them. If they didn’t show up then, they won’t show up now. Letting go of that hope, as painful as it is, brings a strange kind of freedom.

This is a common theme I hear in my work as a Chaplain, folks just do not get why friends and family don’t get them now that they are a child of God. Or an often-heard refrain of “how could somebody do that”? Two things are needed by us (children of God) a remembrance from where we came and a knowledge of where they are.

Almost everyone I have ever encountered here in the US or abroad has heard of John 3:16 and can give me at least a rough summation. Few have ever been able to easily hint at the following 5 verses: 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation]; but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because [a]he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him]. 19 This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment, the test by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]: the Light has come into the world, and people loved the [b]darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light, and does not come to the Light [but shrinks from it] for fear that his [sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned. 21 But whoever practices truth [and does what is right—morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light, so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him].” (AMP)

We can’t change people because man who the father has not called, the Holy Spirit has not personally touched, and the Son has not saved LOVES evil. Only God can change evil, not all the self-help books in the world, the overpaid psychiatrists, and so on. GOD, LORD on all creation alone can change the heart and soul of man, we just bash our heads against a brick wall when we try, and frankly I got enough loose stuff running around up there🙃

One final point of clarification, yes, I firmly believe that the Bible instructs us to go make disciples MATT 28-18-20 and to be ready always to give an account (Apologetics) of our faith 1 Peter 3:15. We do this knowing we are only God’s messenger(s) not the agent of change.

Lastly thank you for all the likes and comments on my web pages.

I’m Willie

Hello and Welcome to my Website.
My name is William Torres, but my family and friends call me Willie. It is a pleasure to be here with you today, and I am excited to share my faith journey with you.

My journey has been amazing and fulfilling as a new Christian. I have seen God work in my life in ways I never could have imagined. I have grown closer to my faith and have seen Him work in my life and the lives of those around me. I am truly blessed to call myself a Christian, and I am excited to continue to grow in my faith.

I believe that I have come a long way in life. Over the years, I have worked hard to become a better man, husband to Frances Torres, and father to our children. I have strived to be a good friend and companion to those I have been fortunate to build relationships with. I have learned to appreciate the small moments of joy and fulfillment that come with every human connection.

I began writing stories that I believe were inspired by the Holy Spirit. These stories are my testimonies about the different trials I have gone through, and how the Lord has helped me to overcome them. Through this process, I’ve discovered that I can forgive those I once vowed to never forgive, and in turn, my relationships with them have been restored. They are now a huge blessing and a special part of my life.

I hope that through my writing I can be a source of encouragement to other people in their faith and relationship with the Lord. I pray that those who read my words will be blessed by the Lord and find strength and comfort in His Word.

To be honest, I have had to come to terms with the fact that I am not perfect, but it is in this place of acceptance that I am able to truly worship a God who is. His infinite love brings me joy, strength, and peace, and I am thankful for the privilege of being able to serve Him.

I have also started a Social Media Ministry on Facebook, which I invite you to visit here. Being Crazy For Christ is a platform where I share my journey of faith, and I am also on YouTube – Willie Torres Jr. and I am excited to see all that God will do through it.

This is my hope, and I’m so thankful for it. I’m thankful for the love of Jesus, and I’m thankful for the chance to grow in Him together with you.

You Are Loved

Willie Torres Jr.
