I’ve always loved the adventures bold,
Of Vikings, Pirates, tales of old.
Medieval Knights, Celtic lands,
Stories told by skilled hands.

I remember the faire, the sights, the sounds,
The costumes, the jousts, the magic that surrounds.
The acting, the tales, the journeys afar,
Chasing treasures beneath the stars.

But why is it that this fantasy grips,
While God’s own Word so often slips?
Forgiveness, redemption, salvation so near,
Yet in the heart, it feels unclear.

Pirates cry, A’hoy there matee,
Their motto fierce upon the sea.
They strike with fear, demand their might,
Seeking gold and royal sight.

But what if a leader, instead of dread,
Placed God’s own fear where hearts are led?
Laid ego and pride down at the door,
And sought His Word, His truth, His more?

Take off the crown, the Vikings gear,
Put on His armor, stand without fear.
Share the Gospel for all to hear,
A treasure eternal, infinitely clear.

For greater than treasure, greater than fame,
Is the honor of lifting His Holy Name.
And when your voyage meets the shore,
You’ll find the peace you searched for before.

Where crowns of pride will fade away,
But Heaven’s call will light your way.
So raise your banner, stand and fight,
With truth as your sword and faith as your might.

Let mercy guide each step you take,
Let grace be the trail your heart will make.
No gold or glory can compare,
To the love of Christ awaiting there.
