“I believe; help my unbelief.”
– Mark 9:24
What should we believe about God? We’re told he’s big and powerful—so big and so powerful, in fact, he created . . . everything (Colossians 1:16). We’re told he sees everything and knows everything and can do anything (Isaiah 55:9; Hebrews 4:13; Ephesians 3:20). We’re told it’s always been so (Psalm 90:1-2).

“‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Revelation 1:8).

We’re also told, despite his size and power, he cares about each of us (Matthew 10:29-31); he loves us, no matter what, even to the point of laying down his life for ours (John 3:16); he wants to spend time with us and for us to know him (Revelation 3:20); and he protects and helps us and never wavers (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

We should believe all that, but do we, really? Most of us, if we were honest, would confess much belief, but some unbelief too. That’s okay; God can handle it. As his followers, though, we can’t leave it there. We must seek to learn more about him. We must seek to reconcile our beliefs with who he says he is. You see, how we see him, what we believe about him, affects everything we do.
The “most portentous fact about any man is not what he at a given time may say or do,” wrote A.W. Tozer, “but what he in his deep heart conceives God to be like.”

Okay, so what do we do?

Search your heart and mind, rigorously and honestly. Identify areas of unbelief. Then, be bold. Bring them to God, in prayer. Ask for help. Ask him to teach you about himself. Ask him to help your unbelief.

Amen 🙏❤

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, acknowledging Your greatness and power, the Creator of all that exists. We are in awe of Your majesty as the Alpha and Omega, who is, who was, and who is to come. Your wisdom surpasses our understanding, and Your love reaches into the depths of our hearts.
Lord, we confess that while we believe in Your truth, there are moments of doubt and unbelief within us. Help us to search our hearts honestly and courageously. Reveal to us the areas where our faith may falter, and grant us the courage to bring those doubts before You.
Teach us more about who You are. Help us to reconcile our beliefs with Your Word, that we may truly understand Your love and care for each of us, even amidst the vastness of Your creation. May we feel Your presence as we seek to know You more deeply.
Lord, strengthen our faith where it is weak. Help our unbelief and fill us with a renewed sense of trust in Your promises. We desire to see You clearly and to reflect Your love in all that we do.
Thank You for being a God who listens, who protects, and who never wavers. Draw us closer to You, that we may live fully in the light of Your truth.
In Jesus’ Name, we Pray,
Amen 🙏🤗
Happy Last Day of September ..

Amen, Willie! Reading through the whole Bible chronologically this year has really helped me to know God better. To seek Him more. This was a wonderful post and has me thinking about going deeper into more books this year. We are going to study Lamentations and James but I want to do another study too. Any suggestions? Take care brother 😊💕🙏

Praise God, Sis.
Due to the anxieties and depression, I face, as well as what my wife and boys experience, I often turn to Lamentations, Jeremiah, and Psalms for comfort. The book of Psalms, in particular, addresses themes of depression and anxiety in depth, expressing deep sorrow, distress, and a longing for solace. It serves as a valuable resource for those grappling with these emotions. Lamentations and Jeremiah also delve into feelings of grief and despair.
Thank you for Reading and for Your Comment.
Blessings to you, today and always.

He is there
He is also here
Lives and Breathes everywhere
Yet He asks us to kneel
Bow and be healed
Melt into a prayer
Leave our thoughts and worries
at the Nailed Feet
all remains at Peace
He never sleeps
He doesn’t stop or rest
For in His Love,
He weaves your Nest.
Amen Amen and Amen Willie !!
Peace be with you ☮️

Very good post, Willie! You are absolutely right: beyond belief, there’s also some unbelief. Something that we often neglet and avoid facing, not realizing that it prevents greater closeness to God. Your words made me reflect and added insight on my personal quest to and relationship with God. Grateful for this. Divine blessings and light to you 🙏 🌟

I’m really sorry to hear that, my Brother. I’m not here to preach; I just want you to know that I’m here for you and will be praying for you. I wrote this blog because I also face similar struggles sometimes.
Thank you for your honesty, it’s okay to wrestle with your beliefs. I’ll be keeping you in my prayers as you work through this. Remember, seeking understanding is a courageous step on your journey.

Thanx bro, it’s been an ongoing thing lately for me to question my own faith in regards to other people’s beliefs, [not yours]. I was told something a wahile back that evidently lodged in the back of my mind causing doubt and insecurity but in time I will work it out, love and peace to you and yours.

It’s completely normal to struggle with doubts and questions, especially when we encounter different beliefs. I’ve been there myself. But remember, questioning your faith doesn’t weaken it, in fact, it can lead to greater strength as you work through those doubts and grow in understanding. If we had it all together, we wouldn’t need God, and faith and prayer would become afterthoughts. It’s precisely in our weakness that God shows His strength. It’s okay to question God and your beliefs, as long as your heart remains open and tender. That’s what being a Christian is about acknowledging our imperfections and relying on Him.
I’ll be praying for you as I always have.
Love ya Brother

I am grateful for this beautiful reflection. In fact, believing in God and spirituality is something very profound, and only in the cruelest hours is this belief tested. Not everyone can follow in the footsteps of Jesus, going against the world; it is a high price that few are willing to pay. See what happened to Master Jesus! I wish you and your family a blessed week!😇🙌🏻✨

Thank you so much for Reading and for your kind words and insightful reflection.
You’re absolutely right, our Faith is often tested during the most challenging moments, of this I can attest. Following in Jesus’ footsteps is indeed a difficult and costly journey, but it is through those trials that our faith is strengthened. As Scripture reminds us, ‘In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart,I have overcome the world’ (John 16:33).
May God Continue to Bless you today and always, and yes, we will walk this path of Faith Together.

The images are surreal and, together with the text, transport us to a level of peace. You are right to address this issue. We really need to believe in God, not just in words. Even more so in today’s world with the economic crisis, where we see many people exchanging God for a bowl of lentils (a biblical passage from Jacob). Thank you for the beautiful text! Have a good week, my friend!😉🙏

Too often we leave God on the back burner, forgetting to bring up to the front of our attention, and to rely on his goodness in our lives in countless ways. We do believe, WE DO!, it’s just easy to get complacent. How would our relationships survive this kind of treatment, believing that God will be understanding. We have forgotten how so very deeply he loves us. Thank you Willie for these thoughts, I know I need them today. Blessings.

Thank you for Reading and for your thoughtful response. It is so true, it’s so easy to let our relationship with God take a back seat, especially when life gets busy or when we are overwhelmed by our struggles. Your reminder of His deep Love and Goodness really resonates with me, especially during challenging times. It’s a call to action for all of us to stay intentional in our faith.
It’s truly amazing to struggle with something like my unbelief and then bring it to the Lord. His answers are so powerful, and when I share these experiences, it’s a genuine blessing. Not only do I feel less alone, but others can also find encouragement in His words. I’m grateful for your insights and glad they touched you today.
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.

Thank you so much for Reading and Commenting. I lost count of how many times I have used this in my Prayer and plead to God. It’s a great cry out of expressing a genuine belief in Jesus’ power, but also acknowledges our struggle with doubt. It’s a powerful reflection of the human experience—holding faith while grappling with uncertainty. I believe we all have dealt with this and I know I for one still do.

We all struggle with unbelief and the “what ifs” don’t you think? But it is why we are human and GOD is GOD. What you said here I totally agree with and I also was impressed with all your pictures. Thank you for this great post! YOU ARE LOVED WILLIE!

Absolutely! The “what ifs” are a natural part of being human, reminding us of our need for faith. I wanted to share this message because I believe it’s important for people to know they’re not alone in their doubts. We all face questions and uncertainties from time to time. What truly matters is how we respond to those doubts and our moments of disbelief.
I’m so happy you liked the post. Of course, ALL the Glory, Honor and Praise belong to God. I really appreciate your kind words about the pictures, they were a bit challenging to incorporate, but they were a lot of fun to create, God Bless You Sister, and always remember, you are loved too.
