Leo’s Journey.
It’s one of those mornings, heavy with dread,
Waking with pain, a weight in his chest.

Leo dresses, heart burdened, soul torn,
Stands at the counter where mornings are born.
Pop-tart in hand, he watches them near—
His wife, his sons, those he holds dear.
Where will they be when I’m called away?
But there’s no choice; I must face the day.

In the car, before he departs,
A prayer rises up from his trembling heart:
“Lord, not today, not yet, not now,
You feel my pain, and though I bow
To Your timing, please hear my plea,
They’re not ready to say goodbye to me.”

At Dunkin, a moment of grace,
Pumpkin spice latte, a familiar taste.
A small joy amidst the fear and strife,
A reminder of warmth, a sip of life.

Is it heartburn, or something more?
Maybe it’s nothing, just nerves at the core.
But Leo knows he can’t be delayed—
Books to finish, promises made.

His wife and children need him still,
And God knows this, in His will.
For God sees all, the hidden, the known,
In every secret, His light has shone.
Ecclesiastes tells us clear,
God judges all, both far and near.
And Luke reminds, nothing stays veiled,
In time, all truths will be unveiled.

So Leo drives with purpose strong,
Despite the pain, he knows where he belongs.
Heartburn, chest pain, depression, fear,
You won’t stay, you won’t draw near.

“God will give us the strength that we lack to fight anxiety.”
For I, Leo, am God’s own child,
In His truth, my soul is riled.
My work is just begun, not done,
Until all have claimed Christ as the One.

We’ll make disciples of every land,
In the Father’s, Son’s, and Spirit’s command.
Voice it loud, let it resound,
For when the King comes, I’ll be found.
And He will say, “Come, my son,
For in your life, great things were done.
Take your place, receive your crown,
For with My love, you’ve been adorned.”
