Leo’s Journey.
It’s one of those mornings, heavy with dread,
Waking with pain, a weight in his chest.

Leo dresses, heart burdened, soul torn,
Stands at the counter where mornings are born.
Pop-tart in hand, he watches them near—
His wife, his sons, those he holds dear.
Where will they be when I’m called away?
But there’s no choice; I must face the day.

In the car, before he departs,
A prayer rises up from his trembling heart:
“Lord, not today, not yet, not now,
You feel my pain, and though I bow
To Your timing, please hear my plea,
They’re not ready to say goodbye to me.”

At Dunkin, a moment of grace,
Pumpkin spice latte, a familiar taste.
A small joy amidst the fear and strife,
A reminder of warmth, a sip of life.

Is it heartburn, or something more?
Maybe it’s nothing, just nerves at the core.
But Leo knows he can’t be delayed—
Books to finish, promises made.

His wife and children need him still,
And God knows this, in His will.
For God sees all, the hidden, the known,
In every secret, His light has shone.
Ecclesiastes tells us clear,
God judges all, both far and near.
And Luke reminds, nothing stays veiled,
In time, all truths will be unveiled.

So Leo drives with purpose strong,
Despite the pain, he knows where he belongs.
Heartburn, chest pain, depression, fear,
You won’t stay, you won’t draw near.

“God will give us the strength that we lack to fight anxiety.”
For I, Leo, am God’s own child,
In His truth, my soul is riled.
My work is just begun, not done,
Until all have claimed Christ as the One.

We’ll make disciples of every land,
In the Father’s, Son’s, and Spirit’s command.
Voice it loud, let it resound,
For when the King comes, I’ll be found.
And He will say, “Come, my son,
For in your life, great things were done.
Take your place, receive your crown,
For with My love, you’ve been adorned.”

The End

I had my first heart attack when I was just 42 years old. The pain was so great that I couldn’t move to reach the phone so I just prayed. I prayed for my young son across the hall rather than for myself. Then I passed out. I woke up the next day and went to work ( single mom) but when I called my doctor no one believed me!!! ( story of my medical life!) not until my angioplasty! Being “ready” spiritually is the most important thing!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your strength and selflessness are truly inspiring. It’s challenging to face disbelief from others, but I’m glad you got the care you needed. As for me, I keep pushing forward for my family’s sake. I worry about their ability to cope without me, as they aren’t as strong or prepared as I am. Less than eight years ago, I felt very differently about life, but God gave me a new purpose and will, which drives me to keep going. BUT GOD !! How things shift, transforming “Me, myself, and I” into “Him, Them, and We.”
Thank you again Sister for Sharing your Story, Thank you for Visiting, Reading and Commenting and Thank you for being a Blessing.

We all have that Fear and final Goodbyes are never easy !! Been there, but Our Loving Father knows us more than we know ourselves, He knows when where and how we are to depart to be with Him forever and believe me it will all be Graceful in His Holy Timing and Will- Your name has His will – WILLIE ❤️

I’m deeply touched that the post resonated with you in such a heartfelt way. It’s truly comforting to remember that our Loving Father understands our hearts and is aware of our fears, anxieties, and exhaustion. He guides us through every step, trial, and sorrow, and it’s up to us to trust that He is with us. While living without fear is easier said than done, His Word reminds us to cast all our anxieties onto Him because He cares for us. May His blessings and peace be with you always. 🙏🤗🕊️

Willie, I could FEEL Leo’s journey–the pondering of the “what ifs” holding a pop-tart and thinking of family, to the thrill of the Pumpkin Spice latte and the feeling of heartburn (what if it’s something else?)–the fears turn to faith–Leo’s strength explodes with his mission! His heart remains bold to his calling. I have felt this way so many times in the last few years, Willie. Wondering if today is the last day? God, use us, speak through us, and help us spread your love, truth, and grace. HE KNOWS. In the meantime, here you are using your incredible gifts to spread the truth and love! You’ve begun, not done! And each day his mercies are new and our strength can be renewed through the strength found only in Christ! GOD BLESS YOU, brother! I know you give God all the glory–please know that it’s because you surrender to his will and use your gifts for him that you are a blessing to us all! You and yours are loved!

Aww, thank you so much for your heartfelt words!
I was overly sensitive, worry some and emotional this morning; and I know I shouldn’t be, but there are those moments.

Your kindness, support and encouragement means the world to me and reminds me to keep trusting in God’s plan.
God Bless You, and Thank You for your Love and Support!

Great Poem and so beautiful! But!!!! Those are warning signs. My husband died at 52 of a sudden heart attack. He never smoked or drank or was overweight. He did not overdo sugar or caffeine. But the Lord was talking to him, and he did not listen. There are reasons for our afflictions, and we need to seek the Lord about them. I know Leo was praying and that is good. I hope he is listening. My girls were 21 and 12 when he died. it was not easy especially for them. The Lord has blessed me so very much and I am better off now than I was then. So, I have no complaints. Sorry I wrote so much. 🕊️🎶🙏🏻

I know I have to accept the warning signs and I try to. Most of the time when these things happen, I start to Pray and ask God to give me just a little more time. Don’t know if that’s working, but I am still here 😆😁.

I am sorry. I did not mean to be too harsh. When you affect people spiritually the Devil will do his best to stop you. Someone must be doing the spiritual warfare in the family to stop him. One way you fight him is by prayer and fasting. My daughter was sick with Diabetes for 15 years until she died at 25. I had to go thru it alone. But I was not alone. Jesus was so very real to me. But I did a lot of fasting. That is where the power begins and the flesh dies. I have not had a Latte or a pop-tart in years. You do not want the flesh to rule and neither does the Lord. (Romans 8) I don’t watch TV. The Lord uses every moment for Him. My self-interests had to die. I’m sorry I am writing to much again, but it is so important!
LikeLiked by 2 people
I’m actually glad you wrote this because I never even thought of fasting. I am going to have to pray about this and see how the Lord will want me to fast. I haven’t done so in years, and after reading your comment, I believe this is what I must do.
No Latte or Pop-Tarts 😱🤷. Ouch
LikeLiked by 1 person
I did a Daniel fast or Partial Fast most of the time. You just eat something simple at the same time every day. I ate 2 meals a day and nothing in between. It is best to stop eating sugar and caffeine first or you will get a headache. It depends on what you are used to eating. You have to start out slow and work your way up. it is a growing thing.
But the main reason we fast is to get closer to the Lord. And it must be what He chooses for you. If it is done the right way, it is one of the most rewarding things you can do. He draws nearer and makes it so wonderful that you do not want it to end.
I’ll be praying for you to find the right fast.
You are in for great blessings! 🎶🙏🏻❤️

Thank you so much for your help. This is incredibly helpful as I seek to deepen my relationship with the Lord through prayer and fasting. I am earnestly asking Him for guidance on how to fast in a way that draws me closer to Him. Your prayers are greatly appreciated and will certainly be felt as I embark on this spiritual journey. Thank you again for your encouragement and support.

Thank you so much for Visiting, Reading, and sharing your Thoughtful Comment. I agree that Leo’s insights encourage us to reflect on our lives and the importance of nurturing our spiritual well-being. Since we never know how much time we have, it’s crucial to focus on what truly matters.
As some have pointed out, like Laura and Wendaswindowcom, it’s important to pay attention to warning signs, but do we always do that? While praying, trusting, and having faith are vital, we also need to recognize that God has provided us with nurses, doctors, and medication to help care for our health. It’s something I, too, need to be more mindful of. (To think, I almost wasn’t going to share this because it was a bit personal, But God !, had a plan).
Thank you again for Sharing your Thoughts. May the Lord Bless You today and always.

Thank you so much for Reading and for sharing your Thoughts. Leo’s message is indeed a powerful reminder of the importance of seeking God and evaluating our lives and attitudes. The reality of our mortality makes it crucial to reflect on our spiritual journey and our relationship with God.
The images and message serve as a profound wake-up call, encouraging us to live with intention and faith. It’s a reminder to cherish each moment, deepen our connection with God, and ensure that our souls are prepared for whatever may come. Although we don’t know the hour or day, and we can’t change what the Lord has already set before us, we can be set right with God and know that we will be with Him and be welcomed in His embrace.
