I always joke that I’m a tropical islander at heart, so I have a deep love for the summer season.
Living in my state, winters can be brutal, and I’m not fond of the snow, cold, and ice. I dread winter’s arrival and constantly fear slipping on ice, whether I’m driving or walking.
Due to a spinal deformity, even a slight slip could paralyze me for life. On icy winter days, I walk outside as cautiously as a toddler learning to walk.

The only bright side of winter for me is watching TV wrapped in a blanket—usually Hallmark movies my wife chooses, or college football games with the Oregon Ducks and NFL games with the Minnesota Vikings, Skol!
All while my wife and I enjoy sipping hot cocoa or Tazo chai tea while listening to the crackling fireplace.

So, winter is definitely not my favorite season. Let’s move on to spring.
Ah, spring 🌷🌸🌞The start of baseball season, the blossoming flowers, the cheerful songs of birds, and best of all, the melting snow.

The downside of spring, especially here in this state, is that old man winter likes to linger, surprising us with frost or snow storms. It’s hard to fully enjoy spring when I’m constantly on high alert for a surprise sneak attack.

So, let’s move on to summer.
Ah! Now this is more like it. Warmer days, breezy nights. Time to drive with the window down while the wind blows through my hair.

Ah, summer—the season of adventure and fun! It’s time for scenic drives, exciting vacations, lively festivals, colorful fairs, thrilling carnivals, and dazzling car shows.
We will fire up the grill for barbecues, spruce up the deck, indulge in gardening, and beautify the exterior of our home. Then, it’s all about lounging on the deck, soaking up the sun on those precious days off.
And if I were to include my wife’s thoughts on summer, it would definitely be about dodging those pesky bees!

But everything feels so much better now. The daylight stretches longer, inviting us to keep our windows open and bask in the freshness of the air. The birds serenade us all day and afternoon, adding a delightful soundtrack to our surroundings. Everywhere we look, vibrant greenery abounds. Despite the need to mow the lawn every 3-4 weeks due to the constant rain, I’m embracing it all.

One last thing about summer that fills my heart with joy is the celebration of my Puerto Rican heritage. It’s a time when we come together to honor our Puerto Rican pride, proudly displaying the beautiful colors of red, white, and blue, and unfurling our majestic flag as it waves proudly above the bustling streets from morning till late night.
The parks and streets come alive with vendors selling flags, t-shirts, souvenirs, and some of the most delectable food you’ll ever taste. Just thinking about it makes my stomach rumble! You can’t escape the infectious beats of Salsa music blaring from every passing car, and if you’re not shouting “Boricua!!!” at the top of your lungs, you better be shouting “Wepa!!!” But regardless, there’s bound to be an abundance of shouting, singing, and dancing—my people, mi gente, coming together in joyful celebration.

Oh, how I’ve yearned for this day to arrive! But even with all this excitement, summer still isn’t my favorite season of all.
My absolute favorite season has to be Fall. It’s that perfect balance of warm days with a hint of crispness in the air—what we fondly refer to as “Sweater Weather.”
I love driving down country roads, marveling at the kaleidoscope of colors as the leaves on the trees change. There’s something magical about the way the fallen leaves gently blanket the roads and form inviting piles in front of neighbors’ homes.
The aroma of corn grilling and steak sizzling on the barbecue fills the air, reminding us that grilling isn’t just for summer—it’s a year-round affair. And let’s not forget the sweet indulgence of hot apple cider, warming our souls with every sip.
But the true thrill of fall? It’s heading to the pumpkin patch, eagerly sinking your teeth into those long-awaited fresh apple cider and pumpkin donuts and savoring the piping hot apple cider. And of course, indulging in that decadent pumpkin spice latte we’ve been eagerly awaiting all year. Fall truly is a feast for the senses.

Yes !! Give it to me !!! Give it to me now !! Summer come again some other time, “I Needs Me Precious ..”

And there you have it—my absolute favorite season of the year. A big thanks to Matthew Winters , Dawgy Daddy, and Coconut Doesnt Exist for inspiring me to spend hours crafting this post. Now, it’s time to get back to some actual work.

Peace, Love and for now, Salsa Music …

Great post Willie, except those Oregon Ducks, Had to say that as I’m a die hard Alabama fan and yes way before Nick came along. Looked like the getting back to work involves more pumpkin latte and doughnuts lol. You are becoming quite the master with these posts brother! Have a great day and I hope you catch up on worki.

Thanks for the kind words! I had to laugh at your comment about the Oregon Ducks—rivalries definitely keep things interesting!
And yes, sometimes getting back to work does involve a bit too much muddy water or pumpkin latte (hurts that we are not in the season) and doughnuts.
Glad you’re enjoying the posts!
I had so much fun doing this one. I’m still trying to get the jiffs of copilot but little by little it’s getting there.
Hope you are having a great day.
Thank you again for the help and guidance.
Be Blessed today and always and Be a Blessing.

You’re a wonderful artist, too! “My precious”–lol. The Salsa had me moving (which is good–I move slow, but I can still move some). I’m sorry with all you battle, my friend. Yet, look at the joy you give US through your God-given gifts! Thank you!
Like you, there is something I like and dislike of each season. Fall is my all-time favorite for many of the same reasons as you!

Happy Wednesday, Willie! This message encouraged ME today! Praise God! Isn’t he so good?
I’m so glad we have one another, all of us here, in this amazing community–and one day what a reunion in heaven we’ll have. Willie, you’ll be running and I’ll be cancer-free and all of our loved ones, that have chose this path, will be there. What else is there to celebrate, my friend?
But….fall! And all the good things in life. There really is heaven on earth, between all the hellish things that can happen, if we choose to see through the lens of love and our Lord. I believe it! I’ve bet my life on it and we’re crushing it! Well, at least the best we can!
I appreciate you–know if I’m not here in the next couple of weeks it’s because of good stuff. Family coming in, celebrations, and tomorrow, I’m expecting a miracle with my big PET scan!
Isn’t God good, Willie? You and your wife are loved! God bless you always!

I also, despite the difference in the weather in Egypt from America, I prefer autumn and consider it one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Despite some people’s pessimism about the autumn season, I rejoice in this season, as it is a season that combines endings and beginnings, and it is an enjoyable thing when we begin and are covered again. Thank you for sharing. Morning of light and happiness.

Your appreciation for autumn shines through beautifully in your words. It’s fascinating how despite the contrasting weather between Egypt and America, you still find autumn to be a captivating season.
I share your sentiment about autumn being a time of both endings and beginnings, a period of renewal and reflection. You worded that Beautifully. Thank you for Reading and Commenting.
May You Be Blessed Today and Always.

Back East, it would’ve been fall, but here in Southern California, it’s definitely winter. Which is very similar to fall back East, as it happens …

I’m glad you enjoyed the journey through the seasons. There’s something magical about autumn, isn’t there?
I had a lot of fun with this post! My main goal was to make someone laugh or smile and share a bit of my world. It might seem a little silly, but sometimes we need to step away from the seriousness, take a breath, smile, and laugh.

Willie ❤ … I didn’t get a chance to tell you, how much I love this post! Like walking through the holidays with you! Oh, and your wife running from the bees (lol)! I have a hornet’s nest, but we all get along for now-ish, but have ducked and weaved out of the way from a few (whew)! Hope you have a wonderful summer and I, like you, am waiting for Fall!

My wife running from the bees is always an adventure! She’s genuinely afraid of them, poor thing.
Living with a hornet’s nest? That’s brave! Keep up the ducking and weaving—you’ve got this!
Hope you have a wonderful summer as well.
