Who would You Like to Talk To Soon…
This is an easy question to answer. For me, it would be my Dad and my Grandmother. I could write an entire book on what these two have meant to me, but I’ll briefly say how much I truly miss them and wish they were still here.
My grandmother raised me from a very young age. She was my mom, my grandma, my guardian, my protector, my guide, an amazing chef, and my dearest friend.
My Dad, too, was my everything. Words cannot express what my Dad meant to me. Words cannot express what my Dad meant to me. While many have had bad experiences with their fathers, and some were raised without one, I deeply sympathize with them. I was incredibly fortunate to have the Dad that I had. We were very close, and without a doubt, he was my world. I hoped and prayed that when I grew up, I could be half the man he was, but I couldn’t measure up.
As Pastor Matthew shared on his blog, https://honestthoughtsfromapastor.com/ in order for me to talk with my Dad or Grandma again, I too will have to die, and I’m not hoping for that part anytime soon. So, I will treasure the memories and continue to mourn their passing.
There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t wish I could go back home, have a hot cup of Cafe Bustelo coffee, eat some arroz con gandules y chuleta frita, just sit with Dad and Grandma and talk about our day. I’d find a way to make them laugh, just to hear their laughter once again. Before heading back to my family, I’d hold them tightly, hug them as hard as I could, and tell them how much I love them.

Thank you. They truly meant the world to me. I almost didn’t share this because it was so difficult to write. However, after noticing that some of my WordPress friends repost similar posts, I decided that the next time I saw one of these chain posts, I would participate. Little did I know that I would get stuck on a hard and challenging one.
